Experienced Hospitality Team Acquires Top-Rated Galena Bed and Breakfast, The Goldmoor Inn
Galena, Illinois (PRWEB) March 24, 2015
The Goldmoor Inn, 9001 N. Sand Road in historic Galena, has been acquired by Slobo and Birgit Radin, a couple whose careers each span 25 years in the global hospitality industry. After a nationwide search for the ‘perfect’ place to call their own, the Radins were drawn to the Goldmoor Inn’s distinctive European style, grand accommodations, and key location just minutes from popular downtown Galena. The couple purchased the property from owners who had operated the Inn for the past 25 years.
“We were immediately attracted to the Goldmoor Inn because we saw this charming bed and breakfast overlooking the Mississippi River Valley as a year-round treasure,” says Mrs. Radin. “We look forward to enhancing what the property already offers and making this destination a must for travelers and event planners alike,” she adds.
Originally from Germany, the Radins share a life-long love of travel, gourmet cuisine and meeting people from different cultures. Having trained under the exacting methods of European schools and perfecting their individual skills in professional career assignments across three continents including Europe, Africa and North America, Mrs. Radin focuses her energy and talents on leading guest services and hotel management while Mr. Radin manages food and beverage conceptualization and operations.
“We are very excited about elevating the food and beverage experience for restaurant guests, enhancing the catering offerings, and working closely with meeting planners to create an exceptional guest experience” says Mr. Radin.
Three decades ago, the Goldmoor Inn was transformed from a privately owned estate into the destination which now offers gourmet dining, luxurious accommodations, and beautiful gardens. Recognized as a special, romantic getaway destination, the property also offers excellent options for private social events for up to 250 guests at venues ranging from a light-filled banquet room to a picturesque gazebo, a covered pavilion and lush grounds for sophisticated alfresco events.
Today the Goldmoor Inn offers 18 rooms in the elegant country manor including two log cabins and three English cottages along the perimeter of the 21-acre picturesque property. Each guest room features a king bed, a cozy fireplace, two-person whirlpool tub, an in-room kitchenette, and either a balcony or outside patio. All guests enjoy gourmet breakfast served in the restaurant or in-room. For an additional fee, guests can also enjoy spa treatments in the private spa facility. A 10-seat chef’s table is available in the expansive kitchen for a special guest experience or private affair. The Goldmoor Inn’s restaurant offers world-class cuisine complemented by an excellent wine cellar and is open to the general public.
