GOLDMOOR INN INTRODUCES NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF JOSHUA ROBERTS

GALENA, IL – June 4, 2018–Joshua Roberts has been selected to lead the culinary operations for the Goldmoor Inn, an 18-suite luxury B&B in Galena featuring a sophisticated restaurant and private dining venues serving up to 150 guests. He joins the Goldmoor Inn after most recently serving as executive chef for McCormick & Schmick’s in Oakbrook, Illinois advancing through a career that has taken him from his home state of Indiana to Texas before returning to the Midwest.

Combining his skills in menu planning, recipe development to the disciplined tasks of exceptional restaurant business operations, Chef Roberts welcomes the opportunity to offer creative recipes utilizing local purveyors’ products to feature the finest local and seasonal ingredients.

“Chef Roberts brings inventive, accessible and truly fresh menu offerings to our guests,” says Slobo Radin, co-owner of the Goldmoor Inn with his wife, Birgit. “His commitment to working with locally grown and harvested products fits our vision perfectly and we are delighted to welcome him to the team,” he adds.

A new seasonal menu features selections such as Pan Seared Duck Breast served with a key lime and beet puree and roasted broccolini on quinoa, and Salmon en Croute served with mushroom duxelle, and sautéed spinach served on cherry tomato and arugula Nicoise salad. Dishes will change with the seasons, and special dinners will be planned with local beer and spirits producers in the coming months.

The Goldmoor’s 38-seat restaurant is open to the public, and open for dinner 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. Thursday through Monday nights. An excellent wine cellar and craft cocktails complement seasonal Midwestern favorites and American classics including beef Wellington. The Goldmoor Inn offers guests dining venues ranging from an eight-seat chef’s table in the expansive kitchen to an outdoor patio and three-season Gazebo overlooking the Mississippi River Valley and horse farms below. A board room for 10, private banquet room for 50 and a 150-seat open-air outdoor pavilion offer additional private dining options for weddings, corporate events and successful business retreats.
